Job Title Winrunner - Automated Test Developer

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

The following skills / technical knowledge is required for the role of Automated Test Developer:

Expert knowledge of WinRunner and TSL:

• Experience of creating WinRunner automated scripts / test packs by coding directly in TSL and not just by click and record.
• Candidate must have at least two years of experience in developing scripts using TSL.
• The candidate should be well versed with Creating, debugging and maintaining an automation pack for web based and java applications using TSL ONLY in WinRunner

Expert knowledge of the following features / constructs:

• Learning / working with fast pane table, data grids and windows
• Data driven testing including working with Excel worksheets with multiple tabs
• Creating function libraries (APIs) for each application module from scratch
• Working with non-unique application windows using indexes
• Create and maintain multiple global GUI maps
• Set and retrieve GUI properties dynamically
• Calling other tests and passing error codes / flag between them
• Exception handling
• Reporting results
• Conditional statements and branches
• Expert knowledge of TestDirector especially the ability to manage automated scripts and script runs from within a TestDirector project

Development Experience:

• Candidate must exhibit some degree of development experience in programming languages like C#, java, C++

Knowledge of Capital Markets:

• Fluency with terms and concepts involved in capital markets

Quality Assurance and general application testing:

• Candidate must have previous experience of testing applications including experience of regression testing and testing new functionality.
• Past experience in testing financial services applications will be ideal.

Professional and Educational Requirements

Degree in Computing / IT will be ideal but is not essential.

Job Purpose

The role will involve creating automated WinRunner tests and maintain / execute automation pack.
